Webinar and Workshop Planning Committee

Mission:

The Webinar and Workshop Planning Committee will work with NFAIS Headquarters in the planning, development, and implementation of webinars and workshops on topics of current interest to the information community. The meetings have multiple objectives: to provide opportunities for professional development and networking to junior and senior staff within NFAIS member organizations; to attract participation across all market sectors; to retain existing members and attract new members; and ultimately to raise, broaden, and enhance NFAIS' visibility and reputation within the global information community.

Sina Adibi is President of Practical CTO, Inc., a boutique technology management consulting firm, where his concentration is as Interim Executive for medium sized companies engaged in technology product and service offerings - with primary focus on product development from ideation through development, packaging, presentation and sale of products and services in the Healthcare Information and Scientific R&D market. Prior to that he was Chief Technology Officer at PAREXEL Inc., a leading global bio/pharmaceutical services organization, where he was responsible for ideation, design, development, and sales and marketing of workflow technologies as they relate to clinical trial process management, document management systems and medical imaging systems. As Chief Technology Officer at Thomson-Reuters Scientific & Healthcare (now Thomson Reuters IP & Science), he was responsible for all Information delivery platforms - Web of Knowledge, Web of Science and the ResearchSoft suite of products - as well as content acquisition, editorial workflow systems, content enhancement, format setup, and publishing. Sina earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science from Temple University in Philadelphia and his Master's degree from Fox School of Business in Philadelphia, PA.

Maureen Kelly is a consultant with extensive experience in the technical and business aspects of electronic publishing and information retrieval, including market analysis, product development, production management, and the selection and deployment of supporting technology. Current projects include indexing strategies, open source software, and mobile applications. Prior to consulting, she held positions as Executive Director of Strategic Development at Nstein Technologies and Vice President for Strategic Development at BIOSIS.
