NFAIS Announces New Governance for 2003
Philadelphia, PA, March 3,
2003 - NFAIS, the premier membership organization for
groups that aggregate, organize and facilitate access to
information, announced today its new governance for the
coming year. Marjorie Hlava, President, Access
Innovations, Inc. is the incoming President. Newly-elected
members of the Board of Directors include:
- Bernard Aleva,
President/CEO, Elsevier Engineering Information Inc. (Ei)
- Walter L. Finch,
Director, Program Planning, National Technical Information
Service (NTIS)
In addition, three Board
members were re-elected to serve a second term:
- Kevin Bouley,
President, Nerac, Inc. (Board Treasurer)
- David Brown, Senior
Vice President, Content Development, The Dialog
Corporation
- Terence Ford, Head,
Research Databases, Getty Research Institute (Board
Secretary)
NFAIS Executive Director,
Bonnie Lawlor, announced that the association's
membership has chosen current Board member Linda Sacks,
Senior Vice President, Product Development and Marketing,
BIOSIS, as President-Elect 2003.
"The new NFAIS governance
represents a continuation of the experienced and dedicated
leadership that has been an NFAIS hallmark," commented Ms.
Lawlor. "Our Board members represent some of the major
global information and technology providers across all
market sectors - private, non-profit and government. They
have a proven commitment to the organization and its
membership, and are focused on ensuring that NFAIS evolves
to meet the needs, wants and expectations of its diverse and
changing membership. I look forward to working with them in
the months to come."

Board of Directors include: Michael W. Dennis;
Special Assistant to the Director, CAS and Immediate
Past-President; Linda A. Beebe, Senior Director,
PsycINFO, American Psychological Association; Matt Dunie,
President, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts; Lucian
Parziale, Vice President, Information Systems, The H. W.
Wilson Company, and Sally Sinn, Associate Director
for Technical Services Division, National Agricultural
Library.
